Correspondence with Egon Wellesz [manuscript], 1954-1978.

The collection consists primarily of letters between Velimirović and Wellesz. There are also a few letters between Velimirović and Emmy Stross Wellesz. In addition the collection contains two obituaries, two photographs, the programme for a memorial concert for Wellesz in St John's, Smith Square, London, and a copy of the score for his 5th symphony, signed by Wellesz for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Woods Bliss on their 50th anniversary.

Robert Woods Bliss (1875-1962, Harvard AB 1900) and his wife, Mildred Barnes Bliss (1875-1969) were prominent art collectors and the founders of Dumbarton Oaks, an estate which they developed and conveyed in 1940 to Harvard University as the Center for Byzantine Studies, a research center and museum. Retired University of Virginia professor of music, Milo*s Velimirovic was born December 10, 1922, in Belgrade.
